We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Analyst to join our team. This will be both a challenging and fulfilling opportunity with the potential to develop your range of skills significantly. The team have a broad spectrum of service offerings which focus on assisting clients overcome challenges. You will be a key member of the team and will work with us to develop and grow a Data Analytics service offering and to embed a data analytic capability into our existing service lines, you will also play a role in the development of the wider data analytics service offering in the firm.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Directors and Partners to define and develop Grant Thornton’s Data Analytics offering(s)
  • Liaise with Business Partners to develop Business Requirements Documents and implement data driven solutions
  • Support the embedding of data analytics into existing service offerings (operational excellence, finance transformation, strategic support and project/programme management)
  • Contribute to client facing meetings to help develop the data analytic service offering and to assist clients in defining the questions to be asked of their data set
  • Lead the data capture, cleansing and analysis, and working with other members of the Business Consulting team, assist in visualising the data and interpreting its messages and translating these into actions for the client.
  • Analyse data to understand data limitations, improve data quality and actively contribute to data quality improvement efforts both internally and externally
  • Support the efficient delivery of activities and projects
  • Deliver insights and root cause analysis into data challenges.
  • Supporting and managing projects & initiatives.

Pre-requisite skills:

  • At least a Third Level degree in science, economics, technology, engineering, mathematics or other related fields is essential
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience coding in SQL or Oracle is essential
  • Excellent applied knowledge of Excel and VBA is essential
  • Experience managing projects from concept to delivery is essential

Other skills and attributes:

  • Experience working in a client facing or consulting environment will be an advantage
  • Sound knowledge in and experience of reporting tools will be an advantage
  • Masters or further studies will be an advantage
  • Recognised project management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2 or PMP) will be an advantage
