This post will be in vHive, The Veterinary Health Innovation Engine at Surrey University. vHive is a collaborative venture between the University of Surrey’s 5G Innovation Centre, the Centre for the Digital Economy, the School of Veterinary Medicine and Zoetis. The Centre is located in the new Veterinary School at Surrey.
The successful candidate will complement our existing strengths in veterinary science through proven expertise in development and implementation of digital technologies for provision of new solutions in research, industry or education.
Your primary project will be the development of the Data Innovation Hub in Animal Health (https://dihah.com), which is a secure global repository for animal health information from all stakeholders in the animal health value chain together, with the appropriate data analysis tools for its exploration.
Applying the principals of object oriented programming within software projects to further develop software systems are key attributes of the successful candidate.
You’ll need to combine very strong wide-ranging coding skills and familiarity with Microsoft Azure technologies with creating and maintaining optimal data pipeline architecture, software development and surrounding work tasks using datasets.
There will be ample room for self-led, on-the-job skills development and remote working.
You will work closely with vHive’s Strategy and Delivery Manager to develop and implement new digital innovation platforms within the animal health industry.
You may also be involved in working with co-located staff to assist in project delivery.
