The Data Engineer will be a member of the GOSH Data Steward Team. They will manage the overall support of BRC projects that require use of the DRE. The role will support data upload, data engineering, data curation and enhancements of the research platform and associated systems within the DRE to optimise for requirements of BRC projects. The role will support users in the handling and processing of their data. Specifically, the role will ensure the delivery of 2 exemplar projects for which suitable data entry and data processing systems will be configured to be housed within the DRE.
The post will also support selected BRC exemplar studies by providing suitable GOSH hospital and registry data to enable linkage to national administrative health, longitudinal and population data with the aim to enable research for children affected by rare or complex conditions.
This post is available until 31 March 2022 or for 2 years in the first instance.
MSc in relevant discipline (e.g. computer science, health informatics, data engineering/science) or equivalent related experience. PhD in relevant discipline or data engineering/analytics qualification is desirable. Candidate must have experience of data management, curation, and engineering methods for large and complex datasets, advanced skills in Open Source tools and programming languages such as Python and advanced programming skills in SQL.
