The School of Computing, Engineering & Physical Sciences at UWS is well established and an internationally recognised academic centre.
Trtl is a travel retail brand based in Glasgow formed in 2010 that specialises in the creation, sales and marketing of innovative travel products. The business has scaled up significantly over the past 3 years and continues to grow. Trtl's original product, the Trtl Pillow provides a solution to a problem most travellers experience, not being able to sleep on a flight. The Trtl Pillow is the travel pillow reinvented and has gone on to sell over 1,000,000 units worldwide. Trtl's growth has been achieved by having a first class branded product and ensuring this brand is marketed worldwide. They have added new products and collaborations to their brand and continue to have massive ambition.
As part of the Trtl team you will be the key contributor in a hugely important anti-counterfeiting platform to detect counterfeit product, working with some of the latest technical innovations, from machine learning to artificial intelligence, to develop an anti-counterfeiting platform to detect pirated product via text, image and video content and, crucially, remove through automation of reporting and listing "take-downs" across online platforms such as Amazon, EBay, Alibaba etc.

University of the West of Scotland (UWS) and Trtl are offering an exciting opportunity to a post graduate in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Technology or with a relevant degree involving a significant amount of software development to support Trtl. Given the strategic important of the project, Trtl's management have indicated their intention to retain the associate post-KTP subject to performance.
The successful candidate will be a trusted member of the research and development team and will be expected, with support from a highly cooperative community of academic experts, to be responsible for
Additional internationally recognised academic support will be provided by a close community of industry-focused inter-disciplinary research groups (AVCN and AHCSE) and the successful applicant should exhibit entrepreneurial flair, and proactively communicate with researchers throughout the University.
