Data Scientist/Statistician

We’re looking for a Statistician/Data Scientist to solve business problems, develop insights and drive actions through analysis of complex data.

Job title: Data Scientist / Statistician

Location: Nottingham

Team: Marketing and Analytics

Reporting to: Data Science Director

What you’ll do

You’ll delve into complex data science challenges through:

  • Analysing data, building and maintaining machine learning models which form the heart of the business.
  • Using a combination of business acumen, coding and new technologies to navigate through large amounts of data and extract actionable solutions
  • Designing and reviewing statistical testing of new products and processes
  • Working on cross-functional analytical projects to support critical decisionsIdentifying opportunities to apply data science to drive sustainable growthOngoing development of both technical skills and business knowledge, to encourage innovations in data science

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate qualification in a STEM-related subject or relevant work experience in a similar role.
  • A good understanding of probability, statistics and large data set manipulation.
  • Experience of coding languages such as R, Python, SQL.
  • Ability to communicate findings to a diverse business-focussed audience, influencing others in both verbal and written form.
  • A drive for continued learning through training opportunities and knowledge sharing to develop innovative solutions.
