Role Purpose

  • Figure out how systems, trends and business strategies fit together through manipulating data or technologies using a original mix of advanced mathematics (beyond regression) and or developing new methodologies with novel data & technology.
  • Leverage technologies to identify asymmetry with open source intelligence, advance analytics and machine intelligence capacities.
  • Apply network thinking to cultivate higher resolution decision making and thinking, while quantifying and solving for ambiguous business problems.
  • Stay ambiguous to methods to solve problems, but will be biased in it’s use of machines to analyze and weight information and connect data, in a holistic manner, from work streams across the business, at the alpha stage of strategic ideation.
  • Hybrid – Business Consultant/Data Scientist. Good at both data science and translating the former to understand business needs.
  • Use network analysis to analyse domains with data on HSBC products, as well as issues that might effect the bank (political or competition) .
  • Make sense of and identify disparate concepts within domain through network analysis e.g. Quid, in addition to tools like Google Trends or Tableau. Knowledge of mathematics/statistics is expected.
  • You will be asked to push beyond narration of data and what machines are able to analyze, into something directly empathetic to the organizational assets.

Qualifications

  • Good handle on visualization in D3, RAW, Dashboards, Excel, Slack, working with machines/bots.
  • Experience with Primer AI, Quid, Quandl ,Google Trends, Gephi, Tableau, Quid, Ayasdi, and open source intelligence analysis.
  • Make sense of Economic, internal and alternative data sets understands the difference between supervised, unsupervised and semi-supervised learning.
  • Good handle on visualization in Dashboards, Excel, Slack, working with machines/bots.
  • 1-3 year doing the former.
  • knowledge of python, H2O AI and TensorFlow, neo4j, JSON, pandas
