The National Institute for Cardiovascular Outcomes Research (NICOR) is looking for an experienced and dynamic Principal Information Analyst (Statistician) on a full-time, permanent basis to lead and manage a team of information analysts, and take the information analytics platform to the next level. The NICOR Principal Information Analyst is a senior statistical lead role with experience and expertise in statistics, analysing longitudinal datasets, programme delivery management and is part of NICOR’s senior management team. The role will also be responsible for leading, motivating and developing information analysts that supports the activities of this important national organisation. It is expected the Principal Information Analyst will demonstrate a high degree of initiative and independence to lead their delegated responsibilities and staff.
The National Institute for Cardiovascular Outcomes Research (NICOR) is responsible for monitoring the quality of care and outcomes for cardiovascular patients through the collection, analysis and reporting of clinical information relating to cardiovascular patients from NHS and private hospitals in the UK. The aim is to help the NHS, government and regulatory bodies improve quality of care by ensuring that the care received by cardiovascular patients meets good practice standards and variation in the quality of care is reduced, thereby resulting in better patient outcomes.
NICOR is hosted by Bart’s Health NHS Trust and is accountable to the Chief Executive of St Bartholomew’s hospital, operating within Barts Health NHS Trust’s rules and regulations. NICOR is contracted by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) to manage the National Cardiac Audit Programme (NCAP) until June 2022.
Other work carried out by NICOR includes the development and management of registries, research projects, data access requests and NHS projects.
