Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Performance Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the way we understand and utilise DVLA data. By providing robust data sources, insightful analysis, and comprehensive reports, you will empower data-driven decision-making and enhance DVLA’s business services and processes.

You will take the lead in building and maintaining databases that enable the segmentation and analysis of customer data by type, behaviors, and trends. By incorporating social, demographic, and geographical insights, you will deepen our understanding of key customer attributes. Your work will facilitate the development of evidence-based strategies that improve operational efficiency and customer experiences.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to :

  • Interpret, understand and gather business requirements, in order to source relevant data sets from internal and external data holders.
  • Analyse raw data extracted from DVLA systems or build databases to determine trends in order to provide robust evidence for development and decision making for the improvement of DVLA services and business processes.
  • Accurate and timely delivery of reports segmented by a variety of custom variables, applying appropriate statistical models and tests, using relevant tools and software.
  • Provide advice and guidance on reports, data analysis processes and technology and methodology for robust investigation and reviews of Business processes and services.
  • Engage with stakeholders on specification of agreed projects and maintaining contact throughout duration of assignment and seeking feedback for ways of improving the delivery of services and user requirements.

Person specification

We are looking for an individual with practical experience using Excel and Power BI.

You will be able to create high quality, accurate reports and analysis and are comfortable presenting this to non-technical colleagues.

You will bring good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, and talk about your work with a variety of stakeholders.

You take an organised, methodical approach and can work at pace and problem solve to meet tight deadlines.

Due to the evolving nature of the business, vacancies can become available at any time. Therefore, this campaign may create a reserve list to fulfil demand if it arises which will be held for a period of 12 months.

Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles (opens in a new window) , and will assess your Behaviours, Experience and Technical skills.

  • Proficient in Excel and Power BI, with a track record of producing high-quality, accurate reports and insightful analysis.
  • Experience organising and prioritising tasks effectively to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders, including effectively conveying technical information to non-technical audiences.


The sift is due to take place between 11th-18th December 2024.

Interviews will be held week commencing 6th January 2025.

This interview will be conducted on site at DVLA, Swansea. Further details of which will be provided to you should you be selected for interview.
