The Bank for International Settlements is an international organisation which fosters international monetary and financial cooperation via wide-ranging banking, economic research and policy coordination activities.

We are recruiting Research Analysts at our head office in Basel. We seek master's graduates in economics, statistics, finance or related subjects with at least one year of job experience.

In this role you will provide the Bank's economists with comprehensive support for their research and policy work. You will collect, process and conduct statistical and econometric analysis of data from a range of sources including central banks, supervisory authorities and international organisations.

You will use data to create graphs and tables for use in publications and at key meetings to discuss global monetary policy, financial topics as well as new digital technologies.

You will maintain statistical databases for internal and external use, and you will conduct data quality control to ensure the highest standards of data provided. Knowledge of SQL would be an advantage.
You will keep abreast of new technologies and help test and implement new statistical applications.

You are a skilled user of econometric and programming software packages such as STATA, Matlab, Python. You are interested in new econometric methods and machine learning techniques. You are experienced in retrieving data from Bloomberg and Datastream. Knowledge of other data sources is desirable. You have strong analytical skills, team spirit, are a fast learner and enjoy the challenge of working across a range of topic areas.
