Position Description

  • Play a key role in the development of the QIAGEN global statistics department (located in Manchester).
  • Be the lead Statistics contact for one or more QIAGEN MDx Development Programmes. Provide expert statistics consultancy, proactively liaising with each of the project teams to ensure appropriate evidence is generated to meet regulatory, scientific and commercial needs.
  • Play the lead statistics role in external liaisons (e.g. partners and regulatory bodies).
  • Provide statistics technical leadership, giving advice and support to other statisticians, statistical programmers, and scientists. Identify training needs and provide training
  • Design Studies, review study protocols and prepare statistical considerations. Liaise with scientific, regulatory and clinical staff on study design, data processing, analysis and reporting.
  • Apply SAS and other statistical software.
  • Lead systems development objectives through the development of best practice standards, guidance and SOPs.

Position Requirements

  • Statistics MSc (or equivalent).
  • SAS programming skills, other statistical software desirable.
  • Candidates experienced in the application of statistics for R&D and Clinical Research, experience in molecular diagnostics an advantage.

  • Works successfully in a team, liaising with colleagues across different departments and countries.
  • Able to lead, innovate and take initiative.
  • Continuous learning and application of new skills and knowledge.
  • An interest in personalized healthcare, biomarker development and molecular diagnostics.
