Job Summary
The UKHSA Data and Digital Directorate provides strategic leadership and oversight for developing and managing a common and bespoke suite of performant, modern, secure, data and analytical tools, services, platforms, and applications, ensuring access to high quality data and analytics services, internally and externally.
As a Data Access, Quality and Reporting Manager you will manage and facilitate all access, role and permission profiles within the Diagnostic Laboratory Data Curation System, currently called the Second-Generation Surveillance System (SGSS). You will be responsible for building and managing the suite of reporting tools to support management information, performance monitoring, surveillance and data quality needs. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the use of Diagnostic Laboratory data within the SGSS environments, you will ensure full and accurate documentation, relating to all processes and policies within the area are made available.
The post holder will liaise regularly with both UKHSA staff and external stakeholders to develop meaningful reports, data feeds, and inform them of data quality levels within the data.

Job Description
Main duties of the job
- Be responsible for approving and providing access and permissions across all Second-Generation Surveillance System environments.
- Monitor user access and produce regular user metrics, modifying the solution to best optimise the user end-user experience.
- Manage and maintain the business intelligence reporting solutions used to access the datasets.
- Through expert knowledge of the surveillance systems and alongside colleagues across UKHSA, develop a suite of reports and data models to maximise the availability of the data and utilise data visualisation tools.
- Be responsible for ensuring information governance around the access and permissions documentation is up to date.
- Develop user support documentation for SGSS and training materials for operational users of the data.
- Liaise with the Surveillance Data Team and Field Service Teams to understand data quality issues in the reported datasets, including investigation and resolution of issues where possible.
- Responsible for gathering requirements, understanding user needs, planning and building data quality dashboards to enable monitoring.
- Responsible for planning and prioritisation of the work of the access and reporting workstreams, delegating appropriately to ensure work allocated, staff upskilled, and knowledge shared leading to succession planning.

- Educated to degree level in information science or extensive experience in data management and review, use of coding and / or processing and interpreting information.
- Proficient experience in the use of Power BI Analytics.
