Data Scientist
We are looking to employ a Data Scientist to be based in London, Manchester or Birmingham and to work with us on a Full Time Permanent basis.
The successful candidate will support the Data Science team in adding value from our data across business functions as well as analyse and process data sets to derive business insights, working in collaboration with key business functions.
The Role:
Our company is seeking an experienced data scientist to join our Data Science team. As a data scientist, you will be responsible for analysing large data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can be used to drive better decision-making across the organisation.
You will collaborate closely with other members of the P&C insurance team to develop models that help us to better understand and manage risks, as well as improve customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, organize, and analyse large data sets from various sources to derive insights that will inform business decisions.
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and product development teams to identify areas where data-driven insights can improve their operations.
- Build predictive models that can help identify risk factors and improve underwriting accuracy.
- Develop machine learning algorithms that can be used to detect fraudulent claims.
- Work with the IT team to ensure that data is stored and analysed securely.
- Develop dashboards and reports that clearly communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies that could impact the P&C insurance industry.
- Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.
- Any additional duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be expected to be undertaken in accordance with the role.

Requirements:
- Proven experience in a data science or similar role, preferably within the P&C insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of data analysis techniques, including statistical analysis and machine learning.
- Experience working with large data sets and advanced data analysis tools (such as SQL, R, Python).
- Experience developing predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with cloud computing and big data technologies (such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
