Job Overview
We are seeking an ambitious and intellectually curious Junior Data Scientist to join our Supply and Demand Planning - Insights team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate eager to apply their expertise in solving real-world challenges—whether it's predicting customer behavior, optimizing operations, or identifying patterns in complex datasets across our supply chain. You'll collaborate with experienced insight developers, insight analysts, and subject-matter experts to design, develop, and deploy models that deliver a meaningful impact to support business decisions.
Role Responsibilities
- Working alongside the insight developers and subject-matter experts to build scalable solutions & contribute to experimental research, model prototyping
- Designing and building models to solve real-world problems using statistical/machine learning techniques
- Carrying out full data science workflows: from data acquisition and cleaning to modeling, validation, and deployment
- Collaborating within the insights team to support overall business delivery
- Staying current with advancements in machine learning and AI, and contributing new ideas
- Supporting the future development of our reporting capability and future system enhancements
Experience and Key Attributes
- A degree in Data Science or a related field
- Strong programming skills
- A solid understanding of core machine learning concepts, data wrangling, and model evaluation
- A passion for solving complex problems using data and a continuous learning mindset
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Full right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role)
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI or SAC
- Knowledge of SQL & Python
- Experience with experimental design, research methods, or academic publishing
- Experience with demand & supply planning tools (e.g., SAP is preferred but not essential)
- Experience in the FMCG industry
