About The Role
The Data Scientist is an integral part of Latham’s Audit & Advisory team. This role will be responsible for helping to advise on and construct advanced analytics and data science models and insights throughout the firm , while working on data science and advanced analytics projects that serve across functions, departments, and geographies. This role will be located in our Manchester office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
- Working with team members and independently to execute data science and advanced analytics solutions that provide answers to key business problems and ultimately drive actions for stakeholders throughout the organisation
- Aggregating data from a variety of non-server-based sources, identifies new sources, and streamlines collection and processing where possible
- Applying knowledge of statistics, predictive modelling, and advanced mathematics to highlight patterns, identify trends, predict future outcomes, answer key business questions, and make valuable discoveries from given non-server data sets
- Summarizing complex findings and advice for stakeholders of varying levels of analytical knowledge so that insights are easily digestible and actionable
- Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and predictive modelling and experience with proper applications and interpretations of results (i.e. clustering, regression analysis, random forest, etc.)
- Possess the ability to accurately perform and comprehend results of advanced analytics and modelling techniques and communicate data findings to senior management
- Exhibit proficiency with Python
And have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Data Science, Statistics, Math, Economics or related field
- Relevant work experience in data science, data consulting, or applied statistics
