JOB PURPOSE:

The global Digital & Data team is the central team in Foods & Refreshment (F&R) Research & Development (R&D) to enable and lead the digital transformation of our organisation. Our core expertise area and responsibility are to provide the systems expertise and user solutions to drive data quality in our core ingredient and product specifications. Increasingly, we are also strengthening our capability in data engineering, visualisation, reporting and data science to extract the maximum value from data we have. While using all data to support the F&R computer modelled design agenda. The Digital & Data team is working closely together with many teams across F&R R&D, ranging from regional to local deploy centre teams on product specifications to global design centres/Science & Technology/Capability teams on data science and modelling.

The Global Foods and Refreshment R&D team is heavily investing in data recording technology, which is transforming our product development capability, providing a step change in our ability to capture formulation, processing, packaging, pilot plant and factory data. This provides the opportunity for the Data Scientist to be a part of a major transformation agenda as we seek to fully exploit the benefits of data storage, management, and its analysis

This role presents an exciting opportunity for a passionate data scientist that loves data & applying data analysis to gather insights

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identifying data analytics opportunities within our F&R R&D business and applying data mining, data modelling, data visualization etc. to make an even bigger social and environmental impact on the Unilever products we are selling
• Generating insights and effectively communicate these to stakeholders across the business.
• Designing applications for data modelling and data visualizations.
• Developing expertise within R&D on data modelling and visualization and build & maintain a network of internal Unilever data scientists.

ALL ABOUT YOU:

• A master's degree in data science, applied mathematics /statistics, econometrics, chemometrics or equivalent with relevant practical experience.
• Strong knowledge in programming & data science; statistics packages (Python, R, R Shiny), Analytics Databases (SQL, ETL)
• Feeling comfortable doing descriptive, predictive, prescriptive analyses & machine learning.
• A great team player & networker, but you can also work autonomously and motivate yourself in a complex organization.
